Israel, Jerusalem/ corr. Trend R. Abdullayev/ Israel plans to boycott the conference on human rights of United Nations (UN) organization, Sipi Livni, the foreign minister of Israel said in a Forum held in Jerusalem on Fight against Anti-Semitism, MIGNEWS new agency said. The foreign minister said that it would be impossible to prevent the conference from becoming a show of attack on Israel.
The first World Conference on Fight against Racism, Xenophobia, and Racial Discrimination, held under the auspice of the UN high Commissar in Durban in summer 2001, focused on the mutual relations of Israel and Palestine- which will end up with equalization of Zionism to Racism.
At that time US and Israel strongly reacted to the decrease in number of their delegates and boycotted the Conference. Israel will not take part in the second Conference, which is expected to be held in 2009, as there were no any changes in the Council on Human Rights presides over by Libya since then. " Israel will not take part until there will be a proof that the Conference will not serve as a ground for the rise of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel elements," Sipi Livni said.
