Judge of the Israeli High Court of Justice Elyakim Rubinstein delivered a verdict on Sunday night to postpone release of 227 Palestinian prisoners scheduled for 07:45 on Monday, Ynet reported. On Dec. 15, the Israeli High Court of Justice will consider the appeal filed by the Legal Institute for Research of Terrorism and Assistance to Victims of Terrorism to the Government's decision to release the prisoners.
Last preparations for transportation of released people to PNA were completed on Sunday evening - the prisoners were taken to the Ofer prison, near Ramallah (the capital of the Palestinian Authority), and 18 detainees, who will be taken to the Gaza Strip, were placed in Shikma prison located in the vicinity of Ashkelon.
All prisoners have passed medical check-up and identification and also met with
members of the Red Cross. Prisoners will sign an undertaking not to engage in
terrorist activities after release.
