West Bank should not be 'Judenrein': Israel PM
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the German foreign minister the West Bank "cannot be Judenrein" -- a Nazi expression meaning "cleansed of Jews" - the Jerusalem Post said.
The English-language daily said the hawkish premier made the remarks during a visit by Frank Walter Steinmeier earlier this week, AFP reported.
Using Israel's normal terminology for the occupied West Bank, Netanyahu said: "Judaea and Samaria cannot be Judenrein," the newspaper reported.
There has been mounting EU and US pressure for Israel to halt Jewish settlement expansion in the Palestinian territory.
