Premier-Designate Saad Hariri stressed that the Palestinian cause "is at the forefront of our priorities and we never failed to defend it," assuring that he "will make all efforts to improve the situations of the Palestinian people in Lebanon.", Al Moustaqbal website reported
Premier-Designate pointed that some tried during the past four years to abduct Lebanon and the Palestinian cause but "we are insisted to improve the relations between these two people."
The words of Hariri came during meeting with a delegation of Lebanese and Palestinian youths from Deir Al-Mokhalles summer camp at the Central House Downtown Beirut, in the attendance of Minister of Education Bahia Hariri.
Hariri followed up the activities of the camp within the actions of reviving Jerusalem as the capital of Arab culture for year 2009, at the invitation of the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development and the Palestinian Organization for Human Rights and the Palestinian youth committee.
"the Palestinian cause was and still is our priority, and we never failed to defend it, and we will make efforts to improve the situation of the Palestinian people in Lebanon and move in the path of dialogue and agreement between the two people" Premier-Designate Hariri said.
He pointed that "it is our duty to provide the Palestinians in Lebanon a life of dignity. And necessary civil rights," adding that targets are achieved through agreement and consensus. He also stressed that there are common factors between the Lebanese and Palestinian people. He said: "we want to establish relations which represent an example to relations between Arab people."
Minister Bahia Hariri said that the cooperation and activities between the Lebanese and Palestinian youths established great relations between them, pointing that they represent an example to the relations between the Arab youths which must be applied.
"We reach good and distinguished relations through dialogue, and we can build bridges between the Lebanese and Palestinian people after a long period of confused relations" Hariri said, adding that "the Palestinian issue is at the forefront of the priorities of the Lebanese and Palestinian people in Lebanon are well aware that they live under the Lebanese state."
Director of Deir Al-Mokhalles school reverend Abdo Raad said that this camp unites people, praising the efforts of martyr President Rafic Hariri and minister Bahia Hariri to bring the Lebanese and Palestinian people together, and perpetuate the bonds of care that is at the forefront of issues that martyr Hariri fought for, and Premier-Designate Saad Hariri persists after him.
Executive President of the Palestinian Youth Committee Omar Al-Naddaf stressed on the right of every immigrant and refugee to return to his homeland, and the right of every human being to live in dignity and freedom, stressing on the important of dialogue and accepting the other despite his belonging and affiliation.
