Israel has decided to sever all working relations with the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), and Israeli official said Monday, dpa reported.

The decision as taken at a meeting of senior Foreign Ministry officials, who said the UNHCR had "no constructive relationship" with Israel, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Yigal Palmor told dpa.

The Israeli move comes amid anger at the council, after it voted last week to send a fact-finding mission to probe the implications of Israeli settlements on Palestinian human rights.

Israel said Sunday it would not cooperate with the mission, which Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon called "politically-motivated", and "whose conclusions are known in advance."

Israeli officials have long considered the UNHRC as biased against the Jewish state, complaining that it focuses disproportionately on Israel, while ignoring human rights abuses in Arab countries.
