Israel El Al ranked 32 in punctuality for 2018, moving up three places from 2017 in the popular Flightstats annual report, Trend reports referring to The Jerusalem Post.
Flightstats looks at data from millions of takeoffs and landings around the world. A late flight is defined as an arrival or departure at least 15 minutes later than the originally scheduled landing time.
Delta Airlines came in first as the most punctual airline, with 86.09% of flights taking off and landing on time. Qatar Airways came in a close second, with 85.88% punctual flights.
El Al, Israel's national air carrier, had 70.15% punctual flights. Its closest peers were Lufthansa (71%), Swiss International Air Lines (69%) and British Airways (76.7%).
Flightstats has been ranking airline punctuality since 2009.
