( BBC ) - A suicide bomber has killed at least 20 people in the central Iraqi town of Baquba, including the city's chief of police, officials say.
They say the bomber entered a mosque compound where police officers were at a meal to mark the breaking of the daily fast during Ramadan.
The Baquba police chief was named as Brig Gen Ali Dalyan.
Baquba is the capital Diyala province, which has seen recent offensives by US and Iraqi troops targeting militants.
Earlier, six people were killed in a suicide truck bombing at a security checkpoint near the city of Mosul.
