( RT ) - President Vladimir Putin told Senators at the Federal Council, Russia's upper house, that education is the key to Russia's modernisation. Putin said major reform was needed to improve the quality of training given to the country's technicians, adding that its legal basis also needed strengthening.
The statement comes a week after Mr Putin announced he would head the list for the United Russia party in the upcoming election and would not rule out becoming Prime minister after he leaves office next year.
