Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend / Ismayil Haniya sent a letter to Condoleezza Rice about the willingness of HAMAS for a talks.
According to the Dunyabulteni website, the spokesman for HAMAS leader Ahmad Yusif expressed the readiness of HAMAS to have discussions with the United States.
Yusif said at a press conference that false reports were spread within the international community, such as HAMAS's protest for peace in the region. According to Yusif, they repeatedly said to the United States and European countries of their readiness to have discussions, but their statements remained without attention. HAMAS is not at odds with any country and it is high time for Washington and the Western countries to establish a dialogue with HAMAS, Yusif said.
HAMAS's wish for a dialogue was ambiguously welcomed in Palestine. Several forces in the organization opposed a dialogue.
