( English.people ) - An earthquake with magnitude of 5.4 jolted eastern parts of Indonesia on Tuesday morning, but there were no reports of damage or casualties, local meteorology agency said here.
The quake occurred at 02:52 a.m. (1952 GMT, Monday) with epicenter at 48 kilometers northeast of Bitung town of north Sulawesi province and 129 kilometers in depth, an official of the agency said.
Indonesia is laid at a vulnerable zone, so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire", where two continental plates meet, causing frequent volcanic movements.
