Three boys are being interviewed by the Thai police after allegedly gang raping a 7-year-old girl, a report said Saturday.

The boys, who range in age from 8 to 12, reportedly claimed they were inspired by graphic sex scenes observed online at a local internet cafe where they had gone to play computer games, dpa reported.

The parents of the girl at Thawee Watthana housing estate in the Thai capital said the rape took place 10 days ago. A doctor confirmed that sexual intercourse had taken place.

Police Major Phuwadol Niamsri told the Nation online that the boys had admitted they performed sex acts on the girl after watching pornography that older boys had enjoyed in the internet shop.

Police not only arrested the children, but also brought their parents in for questioning. A number of charges are being considered including gang rape and taking a minor for lewd conduct.
