A Hollywood producer plans to make a film about Swiss hero William Tell, to be filmed in Switzerland and starring Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter, Kiera Chaplin, dpa reported.
Fred Caruso, producer of films such as Blue Velvet and production manager of The Godfather, is behind the project.
Kiera Chaplin, 25, who appeared in The Importance of Being Ernest (2002) is to star as Tell's wife.
The moviemakers wish to film part of the story in central Switzerland where Tell's many escapades took place in the early 14th century.
The man became a folk legend for standing up to the local tyrant and successfully shooting an apple from his son's head under duress.
The film, with a budget of around 60 million francs (57 million dollars), should be released in 2010.
