Hosseini: Recent Iran-IAEA talks 'fruitful'

The latest round of negotiations between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency has been 'fruitful', Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini, said on Monday, reported IRNA.

Talking to reporters, he said, "The recent visit to Tehran of the IAEA team was a successful one and had fruitful outcome."

Iran-IAEA negotiations were based on bilateral cooperation, he said adding that the IAEA Director General, Mohamed ElBaradei, will issue a report on the progress and the outcome of talks prior to the IAEA Board of Governors session.

An IAEA technical delegation, headed by Herman Nackaerts, director for regional department of Safeguards Operation, arrived in Tehran on May 12, 2008.

After the release of a report by ElBaradei on February 22, the first round of technical talks between Iran and the IAEA was held in presence of Olli Heinonen, deputy director general and head of Department of Safeguards.

Iran got clean health bill on February 22 after it responded to all questions raised by the IAEA in line with Modality Plan signed between the two parties on August 21.
