The film version of the television series
Sex and the City stole the crown from last week's top film, Indiana Jones and
the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, with 55.7 million dollars in weekend ticket
sales at US and Canadian theatres.
Crystal Skull fell to second with 46 million dollars in its second
weekend. The fourth film in the series about the adventures of
archeologist Indiana Jones has earned a total of 216.9 million dollars since
its May 23 debut, making it the summer's second-biggest draw after Iron Man,
which has had sales of 276.6 million dollars since it opened May 2, dpa reported.
