A judge at Spain's anti-terrorism National Court on Thursday indicted 11 Islamist suspects for planning a suicide bombing against public transport in the country's second-largest city Barcelona.
The accused included nine Pakistanis and two Indians. Ten of them were detained in Barcelona in January the weekend on which they were believed to have planned to carry out the attack.
The 11th suspect is on the run, possibly in the Netherlands, reported dpa.
Materials found in house searches indicated that the cell was close to achieving the full capacity to make explosives, judge Ismael Moreno said in his ruling.
Some of the Islamists were thought to have arrived in Spain from Pakistan shortly before the planned attack.
