Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, NATO Secretary General, has reiterated the alliance's negative attitude towards deployment of the Russian railway troops in Abkhazia, reported Prime-News.
Scheffer told journalists that unlike the UN or the OSCE, NATO has not got direct mandate to interference with the conflict and it will not do so, as it is a military-political organization seeking no direct interference either with Georgia or Ukraine.
He also stated that Georgia and Ukraine would obtain NATO membership if they wish it.
