The bilateral relations between Belarus and Vatican have good prospects, State of Secretary of the Holy See, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone told a press conference in Minsk, reported Belta.
"Belarus and Vatican have very good relations," the Cardinal said. "It attests to the work carried out by the Belarusian Government to prepare my visit to Belarus," Tarcisio Bertone noted. According to him, the political dialogue between Minsk and Vatican was brought to a higher level.
The State of Secretary noted that the work aimed at signing the fundamental agreement between the Holy See and Belarus has been started.
Summing up the results of his visit to Belarus, the State of Secretary of the Holy See noted that he had a meeting with the leadership of Belarus. "We had a positive talk," the Cardinal highlighted.
Tarcisio Bertone also reminded about his warm meting with Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch for All Belarus Filaret. "Contacts between Orthodox and Catholic believers in Belarus are dynamic and fruitful," the Cardinal noted.
