Egyptian police on Wednesday found an ammunition and arms cache left over from the 1967 Six Day War near the town of al-Hassana in central Sinai, a security official said.

The source added that police are still searching for those who collected these weapons, as they were planning to sell them.

Meanwhile, border guards have discovered seven underground smuggling tunnels along the border with the Gaza Strip, a security official said Wednesday.

No one was arrested in the tunnels.

Egypt has been raiding tunnels in the area in the past two weeks, after it received advanced tunnel detection equipment and training from the US in order to counter smuggling on the Egyptian border with the Gaza Strip, dpa reported.
