US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will travel to the United Arab Emirates later this month before making stops in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, the dpa reported.
Rice will meet with UAE officials July 21- 22 in Abu Dhabi and attend a gathering of foreign ministers from Arab nations to discuss regional security and economic ties, the State Department said Thursday.
Rice will attend an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) conference in Singapore July 22-24. The humanitarian disaster in Myanmar, free trade and food and energy security will be on the agenda, spokesman Sean McCormack said.
Rice then heads to meetings with the foreign ministers of Australia and New Zealand July 24-27, before heading to Samoa for the final stop on the trip.
