Volkswagen has launched the Jetta on the Indian market, offering three different versions with the entry petrol model selling at the equivalent of 29,430 dollars, the dpa reported.
The top model, the Jetta 1.9 TDI Comfortline is fitted with 6-speed DSG dual clutch transmission and is selling for the equivalent of 37,874 dollars.
According to Volkswagen figures, some 8 million Jettas have been sold since the first generation was launched in 1979.
Together with the VW Passat, the Jetta is the second Volkswagen vehicle to be produced in the Aurangabad plant for the Indian market.
