Council of Federation Supports Independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia

The Council of Federation unanimously supported the appeal of the Chamber to the President of Russia for recognizing independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Vesti reports.

Giving a speech at the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Federation, the Speaker of the Supreme Chamber of Russian Parliament, Sergey Mironov, said that South Ossetia and Abkhazia 'have all grounds for recognition of independence'.
