Police have arrested two more suspects, but were yet to identify the groups which carried out coordinated attacks that killed at least 81 people in India's troubled northeast three days ago, officials said, the Associated Press reported.

Police have so far arrested five people, including two who were taken into custody Saturday because their vehicles were believed to have been used in Thursday's explosions.

Police also have arrested Nazir Ahmed, whose cell phone was allegedly used by a little-known group, the Islamic Security Force (Indian Mujahadeen) to send a text message to television station News Live claiming responsibility for the attacks.

R. Chandranathan, a state inspector-general of police, said Saturday that the group came into existence in 2000 mainly to thwart attacks by Bodo tribespeople on Muslim settlers in Assam state, but that nothing had been heard of it since then.
