Russian Foreign Ministry on Sunday called for an immediate end to the armed conflicts in the Gaza Strip, Xinhua reported.

"A new dangerous stage of the armed confrontation after Israel started the ground operation in the Gaza Strip has aroused particular concerns," the Interfax news agency quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko as saying.

He called for measures to prevent humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.
