Apartment fire kills 4 in Portugal

Four people, two of them teenagers, were killed on Friday in a fire at an apartment building in northern Portugal, local authorities said.

The early morning fire broke out in a five-story building in Oporto, the second largest city of Portugal.

Preliminary investigation showed the fire started in the apartment of an elderly man on the second floor and spread to the fourth floor killing a woman and her two sons. The elderly man also died.

Fire chief Carlos Costa said the building was in no risk of collapse, Xinhua reported.
