Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama could meet during a Group of 20 summit slated for April 2 in London, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday.

"They will find an opportunity to meet directly," the Interfax news agency quoted Lavrov as saying on Tuesday.

The heads of state "confirmed the importance of settling the disagreements that persist in some areas ... and demonstrated the resolve to work constructively," said the top Russian diplomat when commenting on a phone talk between Medvedev and Obama on Monday.

"Both sides reaffirmed the interest in re-launching Russian-US relations and concentrating efforts on the most pressing issues such as strategic stability, the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and international terrorism," he said, reported Xinhua.
