Polish soldier dies in accident in Afghanistan
A Polish soldier was killed and four others were injured in a road accident in Ghazni province in Afghanistan, Xinhua reported on Wednesday referring to Polish news agency PAP.
The accident, caused by a civilian bus, occurred on Tuesday as a group of soldiers was returning to their base, according to spokesman for the Operational Command Dariusz Kacperczak.
The injured were transported to the Ghazni base. The victim, Warrant Officer Andrzej Rozmiarek, was 35.
Poland sent troops to Afghanistan as part of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission. They now number about 1,600.
