A Los Angeles woman who gave birth to octuplets went into hiding on Thursday after receiving death threats, her publicist said in an announcement.
Nadya Suleman, 33, has received hate messages and death threats on her new website, which she is using to solicit support for her 14 children, according to the announcement, Xinhua reported.
It said Suleman has received numerous negative phone and email messages, including death threats, since her website was established.
Suleman gave birth to octuplets on Jan. 26 and recently set up the website at thenadyasulemanfamily.com, where people are urged to donate items or money to help support the children.
Suleman, who is unmarried, unemployed and living with her parents, has received negative publicity for undergoing in vitro fertilization when she already had six children, and for using Food Stamps and other government programs to support her children.
The mother has insisted she will be able to support her 14 kids without government assistance.
Suleman and her six other children, aged 2 to 7, moved into what her publicist called "an undisclosed location." The website RadarOnline.com reported they were living in a hotel.
According to the announcement, people have offered food, clothing, furniture and even breast milk, and an Indiana farmer offered to take in the entire family.
The octuplets, six boys and two girls, were still being treated at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center where they were born.
Doctors said on Wednesday all of the babies were breathing room air, and only two were still being given nutritional supplements.
