The U.S.-led Coalition Forces killed one suspected Taliban militant and detained six others during an operation in Taliban former stronghold Kandahar province in south Afghanistan, a press release of the alliance said Saturday.
"Coalition Forces killed one militant and detained six others during operations in Kandahar province Friday, the press release added.
These insurgents, the press release said, were involved in carrying out terrorist attacks including using Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to target the government and international troops'interests.
However, it did not say if there were any ranking Taliban elements among the detainees, reported Xinhua.
