Russian red army ensemble to perform in Turkey

Aleksandrov Song and Dance Ensemble of the Soviet Army will perform in capital Ankara, the Mediterranean province of Antalya and Istanbul.

Aleksandrov Song and Dance Ensemble of the Soviet Army will perform in capital Ankara, the Mediterranean province of Antalya and Istanbul between March 8-15, World Bulletin reported.

The world-wide known ensemble will first perform in the Turkish capital of Ankara on March 8 and 9. After giving a concert at Anadolu Gosteri Merkezi, the ensemble will display a performance at the Russian embassy.

Alexandrov Ensemble will later perform in Antalya on March 10-11 and give three more concerts in Istanbul from March 13 to 15.

The ensemble especially included several Turkish folk songs and marches in its repertoire to surprise the Turkish audience.

The A. V. Alexandrov Russian Army Academic Song and Dance Ensemble, shortly the Alexandrov Ensemble, is a performing ensemble that serves as the official army choir of the Russian armed forces.

The ensemble consists of a male choir, an orchestra, and a dance ensemble. The songs they perform range from Russian folk tunes to church hymns, operatic arias and popular music.
