U.S. must show its claims on changes in action: Iranian president (UPDATE)
"If the United States speaks about changing its policy toward Iran, it must surrender from its position in action," IRINN television channel quoted Iranian Mahmoud Ahmedinejad as saying.
Obama's congratulations to Iranian people on the occasion of Novruz holiday were of double character, Ahmedinejad said during his Isfahan visit on April 8.
Ahmadinejad said though U.S. President said during his speech that Iranian people has a great and long history, he said in his letter that Iranian people can not gain image in the international arena by nuclear weapon and military means. "These views fully contradict each other," Iranian President said.
"If U.S. really wants to change policy towards Iran, it must show it in action," Ahmadinejad said.
U.S. constantly adopts sanctions, resolutions, puts pressure, threatens and disrespects Iran. "Iran people are ready to shake true and friendly hand extended to them. If bad intentions stand behind this extended hand, our response will be the same we gave to Mister Bush," Ahmadinejad said.
