Philippines confirms 2nd influenza A(H1N1) case

The Philippine health officials on Sunday reported the country's second influenza A(H1N1) confirmed case, Xinhua reported.
   The patient is a 50-year-old female who recently returned to the Philippines from Chicago, the United States, Dr. Remigio Olveda, director of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine ( RITM), the country's designated hospital for influenza A(H1N1) confirmation, told Xinhua in a phone interview.
   Olveda said the patient, who has been hospitalized since May 22, is now recovering well and on longer shows fever-like symtoms.
   The identity of the hospital which accomodates the patient is not disclosed.
   Olveda said the patient, a Filipino in origin, has stayed in the United States for a long time.
   Last Thursday, the Philippines reported the country's first confirmed case -- a 10-year-old girl who also came from U.S..
