Two buses collided head-on on a mountain road in the southeastern Andean state of Puno, leaving at least 23 people dead and 50 others injured, police said on Thursday, Xinhua reported.
The accident occurred early morning in the Santa Lucia district, about 1,300 km southeast of Lima.
The injured have been rushed to hospital.
According to preliminary investigation, speeding and bad weather could be the cause of the deadly bus crash.
