Peruvian President Alan Garcia announced on Tuesday a cabinet reshuffle, including Premier Yehude Simon, despite he did not give the names of the people to take the charges, Xinhua reported.
"I can tell you that this weekend we will have new cabinet. That means a new premier," Garcia told the press.
Garcia made these declarations after inaugurating the Basic Unit of First Aid in Carabayllo district, which will benefit more than 46,000 people in the north of Lima.
Simon took charge on October 2008, replacing Jorge del Castillo.
Two weeks ago, the congress made motions to dismiss Simon and Interior Minister Mercedes Cabanillas after the violent events on June 5, when 34 were killed in the Amazons, north of Peru.
As an attempt to control the demonstrations of indigenous people complaining, the government derogated laws that according to the Amazon's natives affected their rights to own lands.
