The bodies of two adults and one child were recovered Saturday after a tour helicopter carrying six people and a small plane with three aboard collided over the Hudson River, authorities said, CNN reported.
A witness told investigators he saw the airplane approach the helicopter from behind, and the plane's right wing made "contact with the helicopter," said Debbie Hersman, chairwoman of the National Transportation Safety Board.
The helicopter wreckage has been found but the search for the airplane will continue Sunday morning, Hersman said at a riverside news conference.
