Roadside bomb kills 3 IEC employees in N. Afghanistan

Two employees of Afghan Independent Election Commission (IEC) along with the driver were killed on Tuesday as their car hit a roadside bomb in relatively peaceful Badakhshan province of northern Afghanistan, an official said, Xinhua reported.
  
"An IEC car was heading from capital city of Faiz Abad to Urgo district carrying some electoral material hit a roadside bomb, as a result, two employees of the IEC and their driver were killed," Abdul Jabar Mosadiq district chief of Urgo told Xinhua.
  
Shah Mohammad, an official with IEC in Faiz Abad, confirmed the incident but give no details.
  
No group or individual have yet to claim responsibility for attack.
  
The incident took place on the same day as Taliban militants have set on fire a school which was supposed to be a temporary polling station in eastern Paktia province.
  
Afghanistan's second presidential and provincial election in the post-Taliban country is set for Aug. 20 as Taliban have vowed to thwart the electoral process.
