Saudi police arrest 44 terrorist suspects

Saudi authorities have arrested 44 terrorist suspects including a foreigner in Riyadh, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday, Xinxua reported.
  

Spokesman for the Saudi Interior Ministry Mansour al-Turki said big quantities of ammunition and arms have been found at the possession of the group when arrested.
  

They were hiding 17 machine guns and 16,500 bullets at a valley near Riyadh and other 50 machine guns and 15,000 bullets inside a fortified concrete room in a house owned by one of them, the spokesman added.
  

The group which has connections with al-Qaida terrorist organization was found to be raising funds to finance its deviant activities in the kingdom.
  

Some of the cell members have earlier traveled abroad to receive training on shooting, manufacturing explosives and forging documents.
  

Most of the arrested members are university graduates and are specialized in various scientific fields.
