Afghan security forces have arrested five Taliban militants in Balkh province, north of Afghanistan, a section of press reported Monday, Xinhua reported.
"Police captured five Taliban militants, who admitted to their involvement in subversive activities, from Charbolak and Chamtal districts,"daily Armen-e-Millie writes quoted police spokesman Shir Jan Durani as saying.
Balkh, a peaceful province in north Afghanistan, has been experiencing militants' activities over the past couple of months.
The governor of Balkh province Atta Mohammad Noor recently said that some individuals have been illegally armed to sabotage security in the province.
