A collision between two speeding buses claimed the lives of 40 passengers in Papua New Guinea's worst road accident, news reports from Port Moresby said Thursday, dpa reported.
The crash occurred Tuesday on the Highlands Highway on Papua New Guinea's north-east coast outside Lae, the capital of Morobe province.
Eight people were seriously injured, and there were fears the death toll would rise.
