Britain's Queen Elizabeth II will address the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York this summer following a royal visit to Canada, Buckingham Palace said in London Friday, dpa reported.

The monarch, who will be 84 by the time, would give a speech at the UN on July 6, following a tour of Canada in the company of her husband, the Prince of Edinburgh, who will then be 89.
