An apparent earthquake survivor was dug out of rubble Monday in Haiti, 27 days after Port-au-Prince was demolished, according to media reports.

The young man was trapped but not crushed under a building in the January 12 quake. Doctors treating him after the rescue "believed the veracity" of his story, broadcaster CNN reported.

The man must have had some access to water but was weak, emaciated and not coherent after his apparent ordeal, doctors told CNN. People described as the man's family said that they had not seen him since the day of the earthquake, dpa reported.

If the story is confirmed, the man found Monday would be by far the longest surviving victim dug out from the rubble after Haiti's earthquake.
