The White House says Obama talked to the European leaders about the need to take resolute action to build confidence in the markets.
Wall Street has seen stocks fall recently because of fears that the fiscal problems plaguing Greece could spread throughout Europe and beyond.
Eurozone leaders on Saturday agreed to a three-year $100 billion package of loans to Greece and the board of the International Monetary Fund on Sunday announced another $40 billion in loans.
