Pepe takes medical tests ahead of transfer to Juventus

Italy midfielder Simone Pepe underwent medical tests on Tuesday at Serie A giants Juventus ahead of a transfer to the Turin club, DPA reported.

The ANSA news agency reported that the 28-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Turin club after playing the past three seasons with Udinese.

Pepe was scheduled to leave with the title holding Azzurri squad later Tuesday for South Africa, where Italy play their first World Cup game on June 14 against Paraguay.
