Puyol to continue playing for Spain for two more years
Carles Puyol announced on Sunday that he will continue to play for Spain for two more years, until the 2012 European Championship finals, dpa reported.
Puyol, 32, had hinted after Spain's World Cup triumph in July that he might retire from international football.
However, he announced on his personal blog that "after turning the subject over, I have decided to continue for two more years with the national team."
Puyol has played 90 times for La Roja since making his debut in 2000, scoring three goals. His most important goal was the winner in the World Cup semi-final against Germany.
