Pakistan: Nato helicopters wound at least three in northwest cross-border attack

At least three people were wounded when Nato gunship helicopters allegedly opened fire in tribal North Waziristan's Dattakhel area after violating Pakistani airspace on Friday, DawnNews reported.

The raid was the third such alleged alleged incident involving Nato helicopters entering Pakistani airspace in as many months, AKI reported.

NATO said in October it was investigating claims by Pakistani security officials that three of their soldiers were killed in a helicopter attack on a paramilitary checkpoint in late September in the Kurram tribal region's town of Parachinar.

Pakistan's army lodged a complaint with Nato after Pakistani military officials reported a similar airspace violation in mid-October in western Balochistan province. In that alleged incident, Nato helicopters crossed 200 metres into Pakistani territory for several minutes, according to Pakistani military officials.
