Mexican Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa declared the first element of a compromise deal at the UN climate summit approved, overruling Bolivia's fierce opposition to the agreement, DPA reported.
Bolivia has insisted the Cancun summit cannot reach a deal without the agreement of all 194 members. Espinosa, who chairs the summit, rejected the argument and declared a text on the future of the Kyoto Protocol approved.
