Iranian gas condensate export hits $4.5 billion

More than 7.530 million tons of gas condensate worth $4.338 billion have been exported from Pars Special Energy Economic Zone (PSEEZ) during the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year since March 21 2010.

Presenting the above-mentioned figures at a PSEEZ directors' meeting, Mouda Souri, the managing director of the Pars Special Energy Economic Zone, noted that the figures increased by 67 percent in terms of weight and 94 percent in terms of value compared to the similar period of last year.

He continued that during the above-mentioned period, roughly 12.023 tons of goods including light and heavy polyethylene, gas condensates, propane, butane, benzene and other goods worth $7.220 billion were exported from the zone by showing 29 percent rise in terms of weight and 52 percent in terms of value compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The official stipulated that more than 1.8 million tons of goods worth $1.080 billion were shipped within the country up to 24 percent and 81 percent respectively in terms of weight and value compared to the similar period of last year.  

Regarding the remarkable rise in non-oil export, Souri noted that more than 4.5 million tons of non-oil goods produced in the PSEEZ were exported to the amount of $2.890 billion by showing 15 percent rise compared to the similar period of last year.

The statistics also show that more than 290,000 tons of goods were imported through the PSEEZ's customs administration during the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year up to 80 and 31 percent respectively in terms of weight and value.
