Japan's nuclear safety agency approved on Thursday a plan by Chugoku Electric Power Co. to resume its nuclear reactor in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, Xinhua reported with reference local media reported.
The Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry had confirmed the safety of the reactor by taking steps such as observing the company's review of 349 cases of flawed equipment at the facility, Kyodo News reported.
The agency said inspection problems that caused the utility to shut down the reactor have been settled.
