China's Party spokespersons urged to promote social harmony
Spokespersons for Communist Party of China (CPC) committees should efficiently release news and effectively guide public opinion to help promote social harmony, a senior CPC official said Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at the first national training program for CPC committee spokespersons.
China was starting to implement 2011-2015 development plan and would celebrate the CPC's 90th founding anniversary this year. The country faced valuable opportunities and serious challenges, so the spokespersons would be busy, he said.
Li called on spokespersons to work to build a sound atmosphere for the celebration of CPC's 90th anniversary, and to promote scientific development and social harmony.
They should cultivate an atmosphere of strategic opportunities being seized for the country's development, bringing real benefits for the people, and build a sound image of peaceful development of China.
The establishment of a spokesperson system for the CPC committees was an important task set by the fourth plenary session of the 17th CPC Central Committee, held in September 2009, Li said.
