The figure skating world championships, originally to be staged in Tokyo, have been moved to Moscow, the ruling body ISU said on Thursday, DPA reported.
The competition set for this week in Tokyo was cancelled in the wake of the devastating March 11 earthquake and nuclear power plant crisis.
Moscow will host the event April 24-May 1 after being chosen by the ISU over bids from Canada, Croatia, Finland and the United States.
