US President Barack Obama will meet Thursday with the emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, for discussions on the Middle East and the democratic movement that has swept through the region, dpa reported.
The two leaders will also discuss the NATO-led mission in Libya to curtail leader Moamer Gaddafi's military operation, the White House said Monday.
The emir will be in Washington to attend the US-Islam World Forum this week. Qatar co-hosts the annual event with a US think tank, which until this year had been held in Doha since its inception eight years ago.
